Madrid's historic street market it one of the capital's great experiences and a Sunday morning ritual for many madrileños.

Sprawling over the streets around Calle Ribera de Curtidores, the market sells everything from battered second-hand toys and bric-a-brac through to cacti and antiques.

Even if you don't spot a bargain, wandering past the myriad stalls and popping into the nearby bars for an aperitivo and a tapas are all part of the experience. Watch out for pick-pockets though.
